Apollo Credits 2026: Is Apollo Free? 75 Credits a Month

Yes, Apollo is free to use. As listed on Apollo's pricing page on October 8, 2026, the Free plan costs $0 and gives 75 credits per seat per month. An email costs 1 credit and a phone number 8, so that is 75 emails or 9 phone numbers. Unused credits expire each cycle and are pooled across the team.

Is Apollo free?

Yes. Apollo has a Free plan that costs $0, as listed on Apollo's pricing page on October 8, 2026. It is not a time-limited trial. Apollo's FAQ calls it the free Starter plan and says it "stays free with no time limit."

The Free plan gives you 75 credits per seat per month. With monthly billing selected on the pricing page, the card reads "75 credits per seat per month, granted upfront." With annual billing selected, it reads "900 credits per seat per year, granted monthly." Those are the same amount: 75 a month times 12 months is 900. You do not get 900 credits on day one.

Apollo describes the Free plan as being for "exploring Apollo or very light usage" and says it is good for founders and early-stage teams. That is a fair summary. It is enough to test the database, find a handful of contacts each month and run a small Gmail campaign. It is not enough to feed a steady outbound program.

Prices and limits change. Confirm the current numbers on Apollo's site before you plan around them.

How do Apollo credits work?

A credit is Apollo's unit for revealing or enriching data. Searching and filtering are part of the plan. Credits are spent when you pull contact details or run certain features.

Two rules from Apollo's FAQ matter most. First, credits are pooled: "Credits are pooled across your entire team and granted upfront at the start of each billing cycle." So a team of three free seats shares one pot, and one heavy user can drain it for everyone.

Second, credits expire: "Unused credits expire at the end of each billing cycle and do not carry over. This applies to both plan-included credits and purchased add-on credits." If you use 20 of your 75 credits this month, the other 55 are gone when the cycle resets. Saving credits for a big month does not work.

The practical takeaway is simple. Treat Apollo credits as a monthly allowance, not a balance. Plan what you will reveal each month and spend it.

What do 75 Apollo credits buy?

Credit costs, as listed on Apollo's pricing page on October 8, 2026, depend on what you pull:

  • Email address: 1 credit.
  • Phone number: 8 credits.
  • Enrich data: 1 to 8 credits, depending on the data.
  • AI research: 1 credit per run.
  • US dialer: 1 credit per 30 seconds. International dialer pricing varies by region.

What 75 credits look like in practice

On emails alone, 75 credits reveal 75 email addresses a month. On phone numbers alone, they reveal 9 numbers, because 75 divided by 8 is about 9.4 and you cannot reveal part of a number.

Most people mix the two. A simple formula: emails revealed + (phone numbers revealed x 8) + AI research runs must stay at or under 75. For example, 5 phone numbers use 40 credits, which leaves 35 for emails. Add 10 AI research runs and you have 25 emails left.

Dialer time comes out of the same pot. Ten minutes of US calls is 20 credits at 1 credit per 30 seconds. If you plan to call from Apollo on the Free plan, budget for it before you start revealing contacts.

For a founder testing a market, 75 emails a month is a real starting point. It lets you check whether Apollo has your buyers and what the data looks like. For a sales team, it is a sample, not a pipeline.

What are the Apollo free plan limits?

Credits are not the only cap. The table below shows the main Free plan limits as listed on Apollo's pricing page on October 8, 2026, from the plan card and the compare table. Several of these will bind before you run out of credits.

Apollo Free plan limits, as listed on Apollo's pricing page on October 8, 2026

Which free plan limits matter most?

Gmail only is the first one people hit. Apollo's FAQ says email campaigns are included on every account, but "on free plans, you can connect Gmail accounts only. Paid plans let you connect Microsoft Office or any other email provider." If your team runs on Microsoft 365, you cannot send from Apollo on the Free plan.

Two sequences per team is the second. That covers one test campaign and one follow-up, or two small personas. It does not cover a campaign per segment.

The record selection limit of 25 slows list work. You can only act on 25 records at a time, so building and moving larger lists takes many small steps.

Other features are included with small caps: AI Research, contact and account data, prospecting with basic filters, Gmail and Salesforce extensions, API access, 1 intent topic, a 2 lead score limit, lead management, 1 meeting event, call recording up to 150 minutes, real-time form enrichment with a 5 limit, and pre-meeting AI insights. Automated workflows are capped at 2 per team.

How does the Apollo free trial work?

The trial and the Free plan are different things. Apollo's Basic and Professional plans show a "Start 14-day trial" button. Per Apollo's FAQ, "your trial includes 75 credits and access to most features in the plan you selected," with some trial-specific limits.

So a trial gives you the paid plan's features for 14 days, but the same 75 credits the Free plan gives you each month. It is a way to test features like extra sequences or non-Gmail mailboxes, not a way to get more data.

When the trial ends, Apollo's FAQ says you can upgrade to keep full access, or move to the free Starter plan. Your account does not disappear. You drop to the Free plan limits above.

What do Apollo's paid plans add?

Paid plans mostly add credits and remove the sending limits. As listed on Apollo's pricing page on October 8, 2026, per seat per month, Basic is $49 billed annually or $65 billed monthly, Professional is $79 annually or $99 monthly, and Organization is $119 annually or $149 monthly with a minimum of 3 seats. Basic includes 2,500 credits per seat per month on monthly billing and 30,000 per seat per year on annual billing. Annual billing is labeled "SAVE 24%" and prices exclude taxes. How to get the most out of 75 free credits

A few habits stretch a small allowance:

  • Filter hard before you reveal. Narrow by title, company size and industry first, so every credit goes to someone you would actually contact.
  • Reveal emails before phone numbers. One phone number costs as much as eight emails.
  • Decide who on the team owns the pot. Pooled credits run out fast when everyone reveals freely.
  • Spend before the cycle resets. Unused credits expire, so a quiet month is lost data.
  • Verify before you send. A revealed email is not a promise that it will deliver. Run addresses through a verification step, and suppress bounces between sends. Our guide to waterfall enrichment explains why found and deliverable are not the same.
  • Protect your Gmail account. The Free plan allows 250 daily sends from one mailbox. Sending at the cap from your main domain puts your everyday email at risk.

When is the Apollo free plan not enough?

Upgrade, or rethink the setup, when any of these become true: you need more than 75 contacts a month, you need more than two sequences, your team sends from Microsoft or another provider, or you need to send from several mailboxes on separate sending domains.

At that point the question is bigger than Apollo's plan. Outbound that works needs a verified list, sending infrastructure that protects your main domain, sequences per segment, and someone reading and sorting every reply. Apollo, which according to Bloomberry's analysis of 1,000 job postings is named in 29% of GTM engineering roles, is one part of that system.

Trexinet builds and runs that system for B2B teams as a managed program. AI does the research and drafting, and a person approves every send. If you would rather see the plan before choosing tools, ask for a free 30-day pipeline plan.
